The CLT Board 31st January, 2007 January 2007 Month-end LetterAll the news you would want to ask. Trying to make your TC better. Note: Remember the M/D study group on February 14th & 15th. January Month-end LetterDear Pastor or Dean, Things New and OldNew modules are developed and, in different combinations, will provide new programmes. One will be suitable for a Pastoral Diploma in Africa. Other features will change the face of our curriculum completely:
A Year of More e-LearningWe have coined the phrase: Mentor Centre utilizing Advanced e-Learning technology. That may sound like a lot of hype if you only look at the A5 CLT lecture books. Not exactly! We started adding the web-pages in the back of each booklet. Then we developed a strong relationship with an e-learning University (without representing them). We got our courses accepted and they offer a range of courses on top of our Diploma to complete a B.Min (alternative) programme. These courses are accompanied by CD-ROM and excellent printed textbooks. Then we made available resource CD’s to accompany the B.Min (28 assignment) and our own B.Min (Hons) programmes. The next major development is now being prepared and is introduced and discussed at the 2007 CLT Conference. Attend One ConferenceYou are aware of our unique staggered conference. Here are the dates again:
*(during school holidays) Attendance is by pre-booking only. You only book for one date. The meeting is in the morning, 8:30 for 8:59 (feel free to be 40 seconds late {:). We provide a meal. All attendants found the sessions invaluable and enjoyed the interchange of thought and the input given. Good feedback was asked and given by all. Average Marks: Cum Laude the ExceptionWe have said this before: Marks are sometimes sent in which are very high, and show clear evidence of being testmarks only, leading to a high proportion of Cum Laude. Three components make up the marks. An assignment simply cannot get near full marks. The same is true for a Task. Credit System a SuccessThis year started with every Bible School having been allocated a credit limit. It is very flexible and negotiable. We swiftly adjust it to 1/7th of your projected year turnover or slightly more. That is about R100 per student. If you want to order more: No problemo! Just pay in some cash. Register Students: Get their e-mail AddressWhen you register students early this year, do remember to also ask for their e-mail address. We will be ready to register students on the web within a few months from now. Students who do not have an e-mail address must be made aware of googlemail (gmail) availability. Publish a Financial PolicyRemember last year, and every year before? Students (yes, they are Christians) do not like to pay. They want their books and qualification. They want to attend class and hear the lectures. Make these “wants” conditionally. CQA Evaluation VisitsThe CQA visits have been very well received as they are encouraging in nature and enhance quality. CLT is earning respect with CQA and Calvary University as the reports are presented, indicating that quality learning is being delivered in many Bible Schools throughout South Africa. Some Bible Schools will receive a phone call for an appointment from Rev. Norman Padoa of CQA for a session with them to improve quality. Each visit costs a Bible School R250 which is minimal in comparison to SAQA. Post-Graduate Study GroupOur 12-18 Wednesday of the month has been very popular. We have added the alternative day for those who cannot make the Wednesday and they may attend the next day. As you know we do not offer qualifications, but mentor students who have chosen their own University. Bible School LibrariesDo remember that for 31 of you, your library is still waiting for you. The next time we import books, we will bring in one set for each active Tuition Centres as an outright gift. Let us say “active” means more than 5 students. By the way, some of the TC’s ordering show quite an increase in numbers. God Bless your Ministry in 2007 The CLT BoardEquipped to Spread the Gospel |
